I went to NHi as a student and had the best time of my life! Its such a warm and welcoming environment. I am from Europe so I moved to Los Angeles especially for NHI. The people there helped me so much with every aspect of my new life in LA. Also as a massage school they are top of the business. I had done massage schools in The Netherlands already which were great but you will not get any better than the quality of NHI. Also I was very impressed with their Job placement and Student services. Almost everyone from my class left school having a job within no time. And for me I am working on a cruise ship now as massage therapist and I couldn’t wish me a better job! Because their spa’s are very luxurious they demand high quality massage therapists but because of my training at NHI I was fully prepared and the selection procedure was a piece of cake. They loved the techniques I learnt at NHI and also they were very impressed with my body mechanics. NHI is the only school I visited so far that taught you to also take good care of your self during a massage. If you do not use the right body posture while working you end up needing more massages than you can give and thats not gonna make you any money. If in the beginning you are not taught the right way to give a massage its very hard to unlearn the wrong way. I was very happy that NHI put so much effort in teaching me the right body mechanics! I am looking at a very long and happy career as massage therapist! Thanx NHI!!!!

This school has totally prepared me for the field of massage therapy. The staff and faculty are diverse and talented. They are always willing to share their knowledge and they support you all the way through the program and beyond. I could not imagine a better investment in my future.

The curriculum is well developed and the instructors employ multiple teaching styles so that everyone has the opportunity to learn. The curriculum is well balanced with both eastern and western modalities…

This school really is the best around. I am so grateful that I found this place. This specific location has amazing teachers. I was in group 56 with John and Jen (before she moved away) and then we got Hedy who was also amazing. The staff is very helpful when it comes to anything you need (my faves: Genevive and April) from housing, job hunting, resumes, externships, financial issues and aid… The program is split up in 2 segments.. eastern and western modalities. I loved learning eastern, it was a huge plus. Most other schools only teach western. I assure you that you will have all the knowledge and tools you need when you leave this place (and you will feel super smart when you realize you know more than most you work with.) This is the place to go if you want to learn massage therapy. I promise!

Get Prepared for California State Certification

Upon completion of this program, graduates are fully prepared and qualified to take the MBLEX exam required for California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC) Certification.

After completing 500 hours of the program, you’ll be eligible to begin the application process for CAMTC certification. Once you’re certified you can work in the massage therapy field. If you become certified before graduating the program, you can begin working while you finish your training.

I’m originally from St.Louis, Missouri and I moved all the way to California to start the program at NHI. I researched the school beforehand and it looked great. I really wanted a well rounded education that NHI offered. At NHI, I made really great relationships with my mentors. I chose massage therapy because you can go in so many different directions and now I’m completely supporting myself through massage therapy.
