Description: This class offers a new approach to balance and movement efficiency. Students observe and learn about their tension patterns; muscular habits; and head, neck, and back coordination. A different concept is introduced and discussed in each lesson. Practical applications include demonstration, movement, experiment, personal request and gentle individual hands-on guidance by the teacher. A new way of lying down is taught to be practiced at home. An oral report is required. The goal of the class is to develop mind-body awareness and to apply it to the daily and professional activities of the student according to their need and capability. This class is taught for personal development only and not as training to become a teacher or a practitioner of the Alexander Technique.
Student Notes: Wear comfortable clothing. Bring a paperback book and a towel to lie on. Bring questions and concerns regarding specific body movements or activities.
