Scott JordanInstructorScott knew the moment he walked through the door that he wanted to be at NHI forever. He fell in love with massage when he saw how he could assist in relieving peoples pain through ethical touch, which lead him to graduating the ANMT program. Scott has been a certified massage therapist since 2021 and is now an advanced neuromuscular therapist specializing in non- pharmaceutical pain relief working mostly with other massage therapists. As the light bearer of his group he learned to carry his light into every aspect of his life and will continue to pass that on to his students while they’re on their way to having work they love. “ all of the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.- St.Francis of AssisSamantha ManningProgram Manager / InstructorHaving been a successful massage therapist since 2005, Samantha brings real-world, sustainable massage application to NHI’s classroom. Graduating from Chandler-Gilbert Community College with an Associates in Therapeutic Massage in 2006, she later expanded into teaching yoga and personal training. As a self-proclaimed “nerd,” Samantha loves the natural convergence of bodywork and teaching. When asked why she chose massage she simply says, “massage chose me, I never had a chance!” Nevertheless, the world of massage is her passion and she can’t wait to share what has so profoundly sustained and enriched her life with others.Kristine BarnesInstructorWith a natural passion for helping people enjoy a better quality of life, Kristine was instinctively drawn to healing arts. She first attended Massage School in 2005 which laid the foundation for a continual quest for more knowledge about the art of massage and other healing modalities. In 2007 she enrolled at Twin Lakes College of the Healing Arts in Santa Cruz, Ca where she completed certification as a Natural Health Practitioner and Certified Hypnotherapist. Kristine brings her years of industry experience, passion for knowledge and desire to help people live their dream to the NHI team. "Knowledge comes from learning. Wisdom comes from living"...do both.Kiana PresleyInstructorKiana found her passion for wellness while receiving her education at NHI Emeryville. She started out as an esthetician 2018 and decided to expand her experience in the spa industry and graduated from the core program at NHI in 2020. NHI highlighted the importance of wellness and being grounded before doing body work. The holistic world was made for Kiana and has shaped the way she lives her life. Kiana favorite thing to do in her free time is going to the marina and relaxing by the water. She is excited to share the balance of good energy and compassion that comes with a career as a massage therapist. “Wellness is the complete integration of body, mind and spirit- the realization that everything we do, think, feel, and believe has an effect on our state of wellbeing.”Jeana SearsInstructorJeana became fascinated with massage therapy as a child after her father had been in a severe car accident and was receiving weekly massages for his recovery. Throughout her middle and high school years, she was informally trained by her family's massage therapist so she could give her father continued care for his long-term recovery. She obtained a degree in Massage Therapy and Holistic Health Studies in 1999 in the California Bay Area, and has worked in chiropractic offices, day spas, and private practice. She's also been tutoring children with learning challenges since 2012, and absolutely loves helping people of all ages and stages find their natural path to learning. Jeana believes it is a teacher's job to equip each student with what they need to achieve their goals, and that professionalism is the mark of an excellent and trustworthy massage therapist. What drew her to National Holistic Institute is their dedication to high quality teaching that supports students both academically and emotionally. “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.”” -Fred RogersJanelle PadillaInstructorJanelle graduated from NHI in 2020. As COVID put life on hold, she felt lost without massage and scared to get back into the field after graduation. But, Janelle took the plunge back into full time massage in 2021 and fell immediately in love with massage therapy. Helping people feel good in their bodies makes everyday a little better. NHI has always been a safe place for Janelle so moving back into the school environment was a no brainer. Janelle’s new goal is to help others love massage as much as she does. Janelle lives her life by, “compassion and understanding before actuation and blame,” and hopes to bring that way of thinking into every class she teaches.
